Honouring the Life of John Mayhew

It is with the deepest sadness we share the news that our former Chair, John Mayhew, passed away on 23rd September 2025.

John was a champion for the protection of Scotland’s environment, and contributed hugely to the campaign for a new National Park in Scotland. Not least as the author of the SCNP & APRS landmark report Unfinished Business.

John was more than a colleague — he was a friend. He will be missed enormously by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and working with him.

John will be remembered with great fondness, and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
